Between September 2007 and April 2008, the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund ran the funding scheme, Local Voices, Global Ban.
Small grants ($500 to $6,000) were given to organisations around the world campaigning for a ban on the production, transfer, use and stockpiling of cluster munitions.
THE LOCAL VOICES, GLOBAL BAN FUNDING SCHEME IS NOW CLOSED. PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT ANY FURTHER APPLICATIONS FOR FUNDING.
An independent evaluation into the Local Voices, Global Ban scheme was conducted by Chris Stalker in May and June 2008. The executive summary of lessons learned from the scheme is available to download and is an inspiring account of how strategic interventions made by progressive philanthropy can contribute significantly to social and political change.

The world is too little aware of the waste of life,
limb and land which anti-personnel landmines are
causing among some of the poorest people on earth.
